I get a lot of flack for my honest description of Ukrainina culture. When I meant to say I got you out of Ukraine --sorry, I meant it! No, she will not be part Ukrainian, part American part whatever...She is a Christian. If the Lord so chooses to save her soul.
By the way, I can say this, because I am originally from another country myself - with a completely different culture. And I only refer to it as the place of my BIRTH. That is it! I by no means mean to romantisize my own place of birth or any other place for that matter. I consider myself a Christian first and then an American. That is how I raised our son and that is how I will raise our daughter. So, if you want to have half-Ukrainians or half-Russians or half-chinese kids, then fine for you. I choose to have whole Christian children, who happen to live in the best place on this planet, the USA (by God's grace). Don't be concern for me, I have done this already and confusion is not something I want to instill in my kids. But thank you for your reply.

Hello! I happened upon your blog and found what you said interesting. I agree, that Ukraine is your daughter's birth place. There was not a guarantee that she would be raised in the culture if she had stayed in Ukraine. Her future in Ukraine could of been disastrous. Thank you for adopting her and taking her away from a possible horrible life.
I would also like to share with you that I am Ukrainian, it is my heritage and I am a Christian too. It is possible to have an ethnic background which encompasses religion in it's culture.
Being Ukrainian today does not embody what is presently going on in Ukraine today. Much of our culture has survived here with generations of us preserving it as best as we can living in a different country.
I have done some work in the post Soviet era and am fully aware of what happens to many young girls who live in orphanages. It is truly sickening. I am so happy for you and your family.
May God's blessing continue to be with your family.
Karen

salvation is already given her... she has to accept the Lord as Savior and King... for the Lord desires that none should perish... take care ;)
